QHSE / MARINE SUPERINTENDENT

 

Job Description:

For our client, a modern Dutch ship-owning company of sophisticated stainless steel chemical tankers and small LPG tankers, we are looking for a MARINE / QHSE SUPERINTENDENT

Responsibilities:
The Marine Superintendent shall report directly to the DPA. He is responsible for:
- The control, check and evaluation of HSEQ Documentation forwarded by each managed vessel on monthly basis;
- The implementation of the HSEQ Management System on board ships and at the head office;
- Updating the SMS Documentation , when required , on board and ashore
- Supporting the DPA in ensuring that HSEQ Audits, Safety Inspections and Navigation Audits on board are carried out as scheduled and according to Company procedures;
- Liaising with the Classification Societies and Flag Administration for Statutory certification and inspection, verifying the correctness and accuracy of ship’s class and statutory certificates, with the support of technical department
- Verifying that the on board safety and navigational equipment is maintained and inspected as and when required, with the support of the Technical Superintendent
- Supporting the DPA in the development and reviewing of HSEQ Management system documentation;
- Providing the Master and Senior Officers with the required support for the implementation and improvement of HSEQ Management System;
- OCIMF SIRE HVPQ, Q88 Questionnaires administrations and updating
- Supporting the shipboard personnel in the preparation of external inspections;
- Assisting the DPA in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions relevant to non conformities and deficiencies raised by internal or external personnel;
- Supporting the SHEQ Mngr. in maintaining navigational standards on board managed vessels
- Supporting the SHEQ Mngr. in maintaining the OCIMF TMSA Status up-to-date ;
- Supporting the SHEQ Mngr. in maintaining KPIs and SHEQ statistics up-to-date;
- Appraising Masters and Chief Engineers

Company profile and minimum skill requirements:
- Licensed Marine Master or Chief Officer with minimum 5 years of onboard experience in oil and/or chemical tanker; knowledge on ISM Code and other relevant and applicable International and National Rules and Regulations and Company SMS procedures
- Good in written and spoken English.

NOTE: Only candidates eligible to work and live in the EU will be considered for this role.
