Customs & Trade Compliance Manager


Job Description:

In your role as Customs & Trade Compliance Manager you are responsible for initiating, developing and coordinating policies and procedures to ensure compliance with customs and excise regulations.
You are able to manage a team of specialists and create and proactively and inspiring environment. You have to collaborate with both internal and external customers to optimize customs opportunities, operational issues for the long term, and contracts with customs and trade compliance. You are cost responsible and have to take care of effective handling of major import/export activities. You have to be able to develop the department plan, communicate strategies and manage and monitor the customs team. All regulatory changes in customs have to be communicated and training has to be arranged where necessary. You understand and comply with all relevant company rules, agreements, policies, procedures and with all relevant legislative requirements and codes of practice. You have to maintain close contact with customs and government officials and you have to manage this process in close collaboration with your team and manager.

Tasks and responsibilities:
Responsibly for the management and organization of advanced level import/ export trade compliance systems, procedures, programs and customs administration;
Responsible for the correct execution of all worldwide import and export formalities;
Responsible for external liaison with authorities and customers on trade compliance and custom formalities;
Identifying risks and engaging timely actions;
Responsible for providing high-level briefings and recommendations for management based upon customs compliance standards and development of enhanced customs procedures;
Responsible for development and implementation of projects for the improvement of productivity and effectiveness and implementation of new customers;
Responsible for design of compliance processes within applicable laws and compliance with management's established policies;
Recommending and translating changing laws and legislations to the operational work processes;
Preparation of audit programs for internal and external controls and governance processes and responsible for the co-ordination of operational audits;
Responsible for the application of the AEO certification (Authorized Economic Operator);
General Affairs MT member;
Responsible for leading a customs team of 15 FTE.
